Not played on a course for years......I have heard the term handicap, just don't know how its worked out.

Girls. Handicaps are something derived to make golf competitive with all levels.

You have a par, of which is the number of shots you're supposed to go round the course in - I.E 72. Once you join a course, you play 3 rounds of golf, and of those 3 rounds your average score is taken.

So say you shoot 81, 85 & 90 - Your handicap will be 13. See?
