Used to play real poker a few years back with colleagues once a month. Bring £100 each and be prepared to lose it.

Can't stand this new £10 buy-in poker. The only skill in poker is being able to bluff for money that means anything.

Played online a few times and lost a fair amount. Same problem. No bluffing, because no-one gives a fuck.

yep real play is much better, when us lot play thou we get too pissed and stoned and the game turns into a farce most the time....played in a few live tournaments...good laugh it you get the cards!


online its all about the 50 dollar games....10 dollar games you just get pricks going all in all the time and you end up getting mugged off with the better hand....the tournaments are decent as well if you got a spare 5 hours!

As said, I was trolleyed and on my own. Was betting, and obviously winning some. Just didn't realise how much. Ended up betting 300 on a horizontal third, 300 on a vertical and loads on a few numbers. Each line and a number came in and suddenly, I was sitting with piles of 100 chips. Then dawned on me that it was a lot. Counted it, rang my mate, cos I was scared and was persuaded to leave promptly by my mate.

Would have walked much earlier, if I realised that I actually had that many chips to bet with.... No idea how I won that many chips originally nor what number came in, but c'est la vie. The wife was happy.
