I'd say, Wilshere is more of a box-to-box midfielder and Song is more of a defensive midfielder, although obviously Wilshere does cover Song when he goes forward, in the same way that Right midfielders should cover the right back when he goes forward, or when Song drops when Kos runs forward.

The formation we play is flexible.
