No...they voted Vermailen above Cesc as Player of the Year!
Close call, both played well but i probably wold have gone Vermalen as it was his first season in the league and he was top scoring deffender in the league, had he not been injured towards the end of the season we could have nicked 2nd or even 1st I agree, brilliant 1st half of the season (Best defender in the league no doubt)...but 2nd half he was slightly vulnrable imo. I think Cesc was player of the season full stop, even above Rooney & Drogba...The pen/injury against Barca epitomised everything about him for me. | |
